Steep steps up the banking from Dunwood Park calls for good walking boots but the path eases off though the woods that joins the Rochdale Way.

Onwards through fields, the trails eventually winds up at Tandle Hill Park in Royton - Oldham’s oldest country park - where there’s a war memorial and views of Manchester.

Then it’s a reasonably easy journey downhill through more woods to meet the track into Chadderton Hall Park, where there are toilets and a cafe.
