Highway adoption fees and charges

“Unadopted streets” refers to streets which are not maintained by the highway authority at the public expense. The responsibility for maintaining unadopted streets usually lies with the properties which have frontages onto the street or the landowner (if known). Those buying property on an unadopted street should be made aware of the situation regarding their property and their related liability for the road.
