Get online at your local library 

Your local library is more than just books; it's a gateway to the digital world.

Whether you're sending an email, applying for a job, or simply browsing the web, our libraries offer free internet access and computer use to help you stay connected.

Devices and data

If you’re struggling to afford internet access or a digital device, help is available.

Eligible residents can receive free mobile data to stay connected.

To receive data at Oldham Libraries you must:

  • Be 18+ years old
  • Live in Oldham
  • Be from a low-income household

You must also be in one of the following categories:

  • Have no access or insufficient access to the internet at home
  • Have no or insufficient access to the internet when away from the home
  • Cannot afford your existing monthly contract or top up

These data packages give you access to data for up to 12 months.

They are being provided as part of the Greater Manchester Data Bank in partnership with the Good Things Foundation.

You can also borrow a Chromebook from your local library for three weeks at a time.

You can renew your loan if no one else has reserved a Chromebook.
