Keeping Children Safe in Education – Governor Responsibility

Aims of the Training Course:

  • To raise the awareness of safeguarding governors in schools, academies and colleges to the ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ statutory guidance and the responsibilities of governing boards.

Key Objectives:

  • Describe the changes to the latest statutory guidance and the requirements of governing boards and the wider school community for safeguarding children and young people
  • Understand the key safeguarding issues identified in KCSIE and associated national and local safeguarding guidance.
  • Develop an awareness and understanding of local safeguarding partnership arrangements and the key safeguarding processes.
