Children’s Social Care

The Children’s Assessment Team undertakes initial assessments of children in need and investigates concerns in relation to Child Protection.

This includes assessments for children and young people who are unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC).

Provision is available to all children and young people resident in Oldham including asylum seekers and refugees.

Family Information Service

The Family Information Service (FIS) provides free, impartial, up-to-date information to support parents/carers, with children and young people aged 0-20 years and prospective parents.

Oldham Children’s Centres offer an accessible, welcoming and positive environment to learn, grow and develop for all children aged 0 – 5 years.

There are 16 Children’s Centres across Oldham, serving every community.
