2. Week 2 - Tuesday

Age 2–3

  • Visit your local park or woods and take a bag or bucket with you to collect things in.

Local parks 

  • Can you find things that are in the story? Talk about the colours, shapes, smells, how they look, what they feel like and any sounds they make.

Age 3–4

  • Make some binoculars

How to make binoculars (BBC)

  • Use your binoculars and go on a bear hunt with Mr Tumble.

  • Hide some items/toys around the house for your child to find.

Age 4–5

  • Play a positional game to help your child understand where things are.

Positional game (BBC)

  • Give your child instructions to carry out with a teddy bear or another favourite toy such as “Make teddy jump over the box” or “Can teddy hide under the chair?”.
  • Once you’ve modelled the game, ask your child to give you instructions. Make mistakes and see if they can correct you.
