When you hear about being active it is all too easy to start thinking about going to the gym, running marathons and all those words which make you want to turn the other way. But the truth is you can be become more active by making small changes to your lifestyle. Doing housework, mowing the lawn, walking the dog, window shopping and taking the stairs can all add towards your daily recommended physical activity levels.  

Everyone is different; we all have different lifestyles, habits, abilities which affect our choice of activities.

Any activity we do should:

  • last for over 10 minutes
  • make you breathe heavy
  • increase you heart rate  
  • make you feel warmer 
  • make you feel happier 

Physical activity can help you lead a healthier and happier life!

Small changes can make a big difference you can event break up your activity into 10 minute smaller amounts throughout the day. Activity should fit around your lifestyle there are many benefits (add link to benefits info) to being active.
