Silverfish survive in most environments, but thrive in conditions of high humidity and can often be found in dark, damp areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, basements and attics.

Signs that you have an infestation

  • Silverfish are cigar-shaped, silver-grey, wingless insects, about 12mm long,
  • Droppings - look like small pepper corns or pellets – black and spherical.
  • Damage to things like wallpaper, books, papers and cardboard storage boxes.
  • Yellow staining.

Problems caused by silverfish

Silverfish can cause some damage to your property and your belongings as they feast upon adhesive substances.

An infestation may be a sign of damp conditions that should be addressed.
