2. GMHCAW interactive quiz terms and conditions

  1. By entering our ‘Greater Manchester Hate Crime Awareness Quiz’, you agree to the provisions of these Terms and Conditions and fully comply with them. 
  2. The ‘Greater Manchester Hate Crime Awareness Quiz’ competition is open to all residents aged 16 or over. If you are younger than 16, you must have the permission of your parent or guardian.
  3. You must have permission to enter the ‘Greater Manchester Hate Crime Awareness Quiz’ from your parent or guardian. By submitting an entry for the quiz, your parent/carer/guardian is deemed to have given such consent and to agree to the use of the entry as described in these terms and conditions. 
  4. All entries must be submitted via our information stall located at Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre opposite H&M on the ground floor. The stall will be run on Monday 3, Wednesday 5 and Friday 7 of February (10am–3pm).
  5. If you win, you consent Oldham Council to use your contact details to contact you regarding the logistics of announcing the winner on Thursday 13 February.
  6. The closing date of the quiz is 3pm on Friday 7 February.
  7. We cannot be held responsible for any form of communication with the winner via email if the winner’s email security settings or restrictions placed by their Internet service provider prevent communication.
  8. The winning entrant should be aware that they are being photographed and permission should be obtained from all involved (or their parent's/guardian's permission if under 16) for their photograph to be used in any relevant communications and marketing conducted by Oldham Council in relation to this quiz. A photograph/filming consent form will need to be completed by the winner (and by the parent’s/guardian) on the day of the announcement to give the council permission to use any photographs/filming.

Usage Rights

  1. By having your picture taken as part of this quiz (only applies to winning entrant) you grant permission to Oldham Council exclusive license to reproduce this image for the following purposes:
    1. Printing of your picture in the local media.
    2. Use on the Oldham Council website.
    3. Oldham Council’s social media accounts.

Data Protection

The information you provide will be collected and stored by Oldham Council and processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. We will only use your information for the purposes of administration of the Competition (including publishing your name and town if you are the winner) and any other purposes to which you have consented. We will not pass your details on to any third party not outlined in these Terms and Conditions.

Indemnity and Limitation of Liability

  1. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Oldham Council excludes its liability for any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense suffered by you, whether directly or indirectly and howsoever caused, in connection with this competition and use of any prize. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude Oldham Council’s liability for death or personal injury arising from Oldham Council’s own negligence or any other liability that cannot, as a matter of law, be excluded. 
  2. You agree to indemnify Oldham Council and keep Oldham Council indemnified against any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense suffered by Oldham Council as a result of your entry in the Competition. 

General

  1. You agree that if you are the winner, you will take part in and cooperate fully with reasonable publicity and to the use of your name and photograph in such publicity.

If you would like to remove your entry from the competition then you can do so by emailing marketing@oldham.gov.uk

These terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with English Law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
