How do you support children when they start and leave?
We provide taster sessions where we invite parents and the child to stay at the setting for a period of time to build relationships with the practitioners and to explore the setting. Once the child has begun to warm to the setting visit's are done where parents can wait in the library so the child can explore the setting alone. This time is upped on each session, until the child is happy and settled to do a full session. They will then be given a key person who will be with the child through their journey of nursery. When leaving the nursery a transition meeting will be provided involving all professionals and the school.
How are you/staff trained in extra needs?
