How do you identify special educational needs and disabilities?During the settling in process with parents if they have any concerns.Through termly summative assessments from these interventions are put in place with the key worker/senco and parents which are regularly reviewed. How do you support children when they start and leave?Through a robust settling in policy adapted to meet the needs of individual needs. Follow the transition process for the children transitioning to a new setting or moving on to a school.
How are you/staff trained in extra needs?Sendco refresher meetings, network meetings, workshops and training. Cascade relevant training and information to the team during staff meetings. Training with staff and supporting them.
