How do you identify special educational needs and disabilities?

I identify send children thought assessments and observations. Also doing learning journals with all observations planning in.

How do you involve parents/carers?

I do meetings with the parents. I also do observations on the child and ask parents about any concerns

We have resources to support each and individual child’s need and to help with their development. We also do observations and learning journals for each and individual’s child

How do you meet a child’s educational needs?

We support all children’s health and well-being by a lot of reassurance while supporting them. Treat each child as an individual. Support the development

How do we know my child is achieving agreed outcomes?

We will have regular meetings and checks are done with the learning journal.

How do you adapt for a child with extra needs?

I do assessment on the activities so that each child can do the activity, this could be for example extra support, changes with where the activities are done e.g. height of tables

How accessible is your service, outside and inside?

Our outdoor and in doors have plenty of rooms for example if Child needs to use some aiding equipment the doors are wide enough throughout the setting

How do you involve children in outings and trips?

All children are included in all activities inside and outside the setting.

How do you work with other organisations?

We work with a wide range of services for example: • Health Visitors • Social Workers • Dieticians • Early Help • Schools We have regular meetings with these types of services

How do you support children when they start and leave?

We do a transition to new settings for example if they are going to school, we do a report for the school and also we attend a transition day with the child and school

How are you/staff trained in extra needs?

I attend training regularly.

What is your policy on compliments, complaints, concerns?

We have a complaints policy. Complaint can be made by: • Speaking to myself • Written complaints • Ring Ofsted about any concerns We try to deal with complaints by talking about it between ourselves. I would investigate the written complaint and try to resolve within the week. If done by Ofsted they would speak to me about it.
