Description

Silverdene provides a warm and caring home for people with a learning disability, associated diagnosis of physical disability or other health issues. We have an excellent reputation for providing personalised care, designed to meet individual needs.

We develop the skills and talents of people we support and deliver positive, life changing outcomes.  We are rated “Good” by CQC and we are proud to have achieved Investors in People Gold standard. Family and friends are always welcome to visit their loved ones and spend time in their home.

Each bedroom is beautifully decorated to individual tastes, personalised with items chosen by residents.   The spacious rooms are all fully accessible and adapted to individual needs.  Most rooms open out onto our attractive gardens, used for games, garden parties and allotment gardening.

The health and wellbeing of people we support is a priority – there is excellent access to nearby community health facilities.  Our meals are prepared with fresh ingredients from scratch each day, and everyone has their own nutrition and diet plan overseen by our qualified nutritional scientist.  Visits to our local hairdresser/barber can be arranged, or a mobile hairdressing and beauty service can be organised for pamper sessions.

There is a:

  •  Resident’s library
  • Conservatory area
  • Arts and crafts area
  • Quiet space both inside and outdoors.

There are two lounge areas where people can relax, watch a movie or listen to music.

Our residents have access to :

  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Hydrotherapy Centre and are looking forward to the opening of our
  • Sensory room
  • Sensory garden

Our dedicated teams work to ensure that the five Vestacare’s core values  are embedded in everyday working practice and these are:

  •  Loyalty
  • Trust
  • Dedication
  • Respect
  • Support

Staff are recruited because they share our values, and each person is matched with team members who are compatible with them. Specialist training is provided to staff to make sure that everyone gets the highest level of care, and, as it is with all our Vestacare services, everyone is treated with compassion, dignity and respect.

Our individual, personalised care and support plans are developed with full input from our residents and their families.  We make sure that everyone is valued and can make a positive contribution to our local community. We have a wide range of activities and entertainment on offer both in Silverdene and further afield, including options for employment, promoting good mental health, exercise, interaction and friendships.

We pride ourselves on our positive relationships with parents and carers, and work collaboratively with them and clinical and social care professionals to support people to be the best that they can be.
