Description

As a parent of an autistic young man my objectives for Autism a Hands on Approach have always been to provide quality information, raise awareness and hopefully to improve services. I now provide a range of online training in the form of short workshops dealing with specific topics and the full day Autism a Hands on Approach ONLINE conference which has proved extremely popular and has become firmly established in the autism calendar as an event where parents, carers, professionals and autistic individuals have a chance to listen to the latest information and to feed in questions and ideas that will be answered by the relevant professional or often, the knowledgeable audience.

The contributions from speakers with lived experience are an illuminating and valued part of the day. We aim to provide a wide selection of information, generally having a very varied audience and are aware that everyone has their own particular interests and issues. Online workshops around Gender Identity and Autism; Eating Disorders and Autism; Girls flying under the Radar; Trauma and Autism; Autism and ADHD are but a few of the topics we are covering. Short online workshops provide a safe space for audience participation and discussion of issues with the presenters .
