Description

A fun cricket session for young people with a learning disability who can learn new skills and socialise. Whatever ability / skill level, participants are coached by Lancashire County Cricket Club coaches and can take part in regional and national competitions.

Our session is part of a national disability cricket programme called Super 1’s, which is focused on helping the well-being of participants with a range of disabilities through the development of both sport skills and social skills such as:

  • communication
  • leadership
  • independence
  • confidence

The session provides opportunity for participants to grow in confidence socially and gain a sense of achievement for what they accomplish with the group of players, things which they can hopefully benefit from moving forward in life.

For the Oldham session:

  • If new members attend Mahdlo because they want to do the cricket, we at LCF will pay for their £5 membership.
