Oldham Lyceum was built in 1856. It had a newsroom, reading room and library, lecture rooms, committee and club rooms, classrooms and an astronomical observatory. The Science and Art School was added in 1881. Today this building is the home of Oldham Music Service and The Lyceum Players Amateur Theatrical Group.
