Window Wonderland competition terms and conditions

  1. By entering the ‘Window Wonderland’ competition, you agree to the provisions of these Terms and Conditions and to comply fully with them. 
  2. The ‘Window Wonderland’ competition is open to all residents of England.
  3. You must have permission to enter the ‘‘Window Wonderland’ competition from the homeowner whose window you are entering. By submitting an entry for the competition, the homeowner has deemed to have given such consent and to agree to the use of the entry as described in these terms and conditions. 
  4. All entries must be submitted by one of the following social media channels run by Oldham Council:
    1. Facebook
    2. Twitter
    3. Instagram
  5. If you win, you consent Oldham Council to contact you via the relevant social media profile you used to submit your entry so we can discuss the logistics of delivering your prize.
  6. The closing date of the competition is midnight on Sunday 20 December 2020.
  7. We cannot be held responsible for any form of communication with the winner via social media if the winner’s profile security settings prevent us from communicating with you.
  8. The winning entrant should be aware that their entry will be used in any relevant communications and marketing conducted by Oldham Council in relation to this competition and our Christmas in Oldham campaign.
  9. For your entry to be valid the image must be a property based within Oldham.


Usage Rights

  1. By submitting your display entry as part of this competition you grant permission Oldham Council the exclusive license to reproduce this image for the following purposes 
  2. Printing of your entry in the local media.
  3. Use on Oldham Council’s website
  4. Oldham Council-related social media accounts.

Data Protection

The information you provide will be collected and stored by Oldham Council and processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. We will only use your information for the purposes of administration of the Competition (including publishing your name if you are the winner) and any other purposes to which you have consented. We will not pass your details on to any third party not outlined in these Terms and Conditions.

Indemnity and Limitation of Liability

  1. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Oldham Council excludes its liability for any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense suffered by you, whether directly or indirectly and howsoever caused, in connection with this competition and use of any prize. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude Oldham Council’s liability for death or personal injury arising from Oldham Council’s own negligence or any other liability that cannot, as a matter of law, be excluded. 
  2. You agree to indemnify Oldham Council and keep Oldham Council indemnified against any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense suffered by Oldham Council as a result of your entry in the Competition. 

General

  1. You agree that if you are the winner, you will take part in and cooperate fully with reasonable publicity and to the use of your name and display in such publicity.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with English Law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
