Why choose Walking and Wheeling?

Walking is simple, free, and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier.

What is Wheeling? Wheeling is an alternative to foot or pedestrian-based mobility, which includes wheeled activities - such as manual self or assisted wheelchair use.

Sometimes overlooked as a form of exercise, walking briskly can help you build stamina, burn excess calories and make your heart healthier.

You do not have to walk for hours. A brisk 10-minute daily walk has lots of health benefits and counts towards your 150 minutes of weekly exercise.

Why is walking and wheeling for everyone?

Just start small and work your way up to bigger walks.

Walking can help you even if you’re pregnant or have a long-term condition like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or diabetes too.

If you can walk or wheel - join in. There are multiple routes across Oldham that are accessible to all.
