Community organisations from across Oldham were celebrated as winners of the Community Regeneration Partnership Capital Grants, worth over £4.5m in total, were officially announced.

Held at Chadderton Town Hall on Thursday 26 March, the event brought together local voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations to recognise a major investment in the spaces and places that provide vital support to residents.

The grants will fund a wide range of community‑led projects that will upgrade buildings, parks, sports facilities, community centres, churches, and green spaces across Oldham’s districts. Together, these improvements will strengthen accessibility, safety, inclusivity and long‑term sustainability, creating better places, facilities and opportunities for residents of all ages.

Oldham Council Leader Arooj Shah said:

“Last night was a fantastic celebration of the incredible work happening in communities right across Oldham.

“These organisations are the backbone of our borough, providing essential support, creating opportunities, and bringing people together every single day.

“This investment is about people. It’s about giving our community groups the tools they need to grow, to reach more residents, and to continue making a difference where it matters most.

“I’m proud that we are able to support so many brilliant local organisations who are helping to build a stronger, more connected Oldham.”
