Disabled parking spaces

It’s important that Oldham is a safe and accessible place for disabled visitors.

We’re working hard to regenerate the town centre, and this has meant we’ve had to move things round on some of our car parks.

Six new disabled bays are now in place outside the ICC. These replace some spaces on the car park off Fountain Street, which we’ve had to slightly redesign to include spaces for taxis. This is because the nearby Dan Fold taxi rank needed relocating, so we can demolish the former Snipe Inn and create a better entrance to the town centre.

If you’re parking in the new disabled bays outside the ICC, it’s free, all you need to do is display your blue badge and clock.

In addition, the Civic Centre car park will be home to a new pop-up theatre by Oldham Coliseum from April to July. Two disabled bays are in the area where the theatre has been built. To ensure we don’t lose them, we’re relocating these two disabled bays to another section of the Civic Centre car park.

When a disabled bay needs moving, we’re doing it as quickly as possible. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by these changes – they are helping us to continue our work to transform Oldham.
