Rowan Ashworth Ltd invested £20,000 to transform a room at East Crompton St George's Primary School into an immersive learning space.
Rowan Ashworth Ltd, which is carrying out street and road improvements in the town centre for Oldham Council, gifted their time and money to transform an empty room at East Crompton St George's Primary School for youngsters.
All council contractors have to deliver social value - this includes supporting the local supply chain, creating local jobs and training opportunities, volunteering for good causes and much more. This ensures that projects can have a positive impact on people across the borough.
Cllr Arooj Shah, Leader of Oldham Council, said: “This is an amazing room which I am sure will be loved by pupils for years to come.
Rowan Ashworth Ltd is doing a great job transforming our town centre, including the work they have done at Hilton Square.
It’s fantastic to see the company really embrace their commitment to social value, using their skills to benefit the children at East Crompton St George's.”
The company has invested £20,000 to create the immersive room including building work, decorating, new carpets and equipment.
Not only will it give pupils with additional needs a much-needed therapeutic space, the school can also use it to create immersive learning experiences for children by projecting images related to the topic they’re studying.
Rowan Ashworth Ltd has developed a partnership with East Crompton St George’s because it’s on the doorstep of their office on Buckstones Road, Shaw.
The business has also been working closely with Blue Coat, mentoring students as part of the One Million Mentors Scheme. Both schools are part of the Cranmer Trust.
