The new live@thelibrary autumn/winter season is full of fun, intrigue, and drama for all ages – so why not see for yourself?
From gothic scares to hilarious monologues, from silent cinema to family favourites, there really is something for everyone.
This season’s offerings include: the English Touring Opera's Under the Little Red Moon, a film screening of the 1922 horror classic Nosferatu (with live accompaniment), a writing workshop with author Oliver Sykes (Fishing For Rainbows) and we celebrate LGBTQ + History Month, with the production of Transparency by Jaden Adams, a trans-male actor, who grew up in Oldham.
One festive highlight is the story of The Wrong Reindeer which is guaranteed to be a Christmas treat for all the family.
Councillor Peter Dean, Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, said: “Once again our Heritage, Libraries and Arts team have put together a packed programme to keep people entertained over the coming months.
“Our events cater for all ages and tastes so if you are interested I’d urge you to pick up a brochure from one of our libraries or go on line to see what’s on offer.”

The season runs until February next year and events are being held at various venues across the borough.
Children under 12 months are free. All accompanying adults must
buy a ticket to attend children’s performances.
