200+ Years in the Making

Oldham has had a market since 1788, when the original stalls were set up on land owned by Thomas Whittaker near Albion Street, a site that soon became known as Tommyfield Market.

Over the centuries, Tommyfield became a cornerstone of community life, a place for shopping, socialising and Saturday mornings well spent.

Today, that legacy continues. The new Market is home to 48 traders, offering everything from fresh produce to everyday essentials, specialist goods and local favourites.
