Family Learning

Do you want to improve your skills in English and Maths to help you support your

children with their learning? Do you want to know how children learn at school

and ways you can support them with this? If so, we may be offering a course in

your local primary school or community venue. Courses are bespoke and can include:

  • Family ESOL/English
  • Family ESOL through arts and crafts
  • Family Maths
  • School Readiness

Partnerships, Community and Education Team (PCE)

The PCE team work in partnership with a range of organisations to provide bespoke learning opportunities across various Oldham communities.

Partners include:

  • Schools
  • Organisations from the Voluntary, Community and Faith sector
  • Health Partners
  • Housing

Learners attending engagement sessions feel more confident and motivated to learn, improving both their self-esteem and wellbeing.

They also feel more confident in supporting their children with their learning, and they make new friends resulting in a reduced feeling of isolation.

Interested in improving your numeracy skills with a Multiply course?

Multiply is a new national programme funded by the Department of Education to help adults aged 19+ who do not have a qualification in Level 2 Maths, Numeracy or equivalent.

The GM Multiply Scheme will support adults to improve their numeracy skills, become more confident with numbers and help them to progress in life.

As part of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority Scheme, in Oldham, we have a range of multiple courses to support our residents and learners with the essential life skills they need, such as support with cost-of-living or improving their health at home.

These programmes are great as a first step for adults looking to return to learning and to progress into further education.

We have programmes being delivered across the borough, in community settings and our Lifelong Learning Centres.
