Alt Pip Orchard on a sunny day

Alt and Holts has been chosen as one of 284 towns and neighbourhoods in the UK to receive £20 million over 10 years from the government.

This isn’t just a quick cash boost. It’s a long term plan to improve the area over the next decade.

What is Pride in Place?

Pride in Place is designed to put local people in the driving seat. It gives communities the power, funding and tools to make long term improvements that matter most to them.

It focuses on three main goals:

  • Thriving places: Improving streets, parks, culture and local spaces for the future.
  • Stronger communities: Making the area safer and more connected, and bringing people together.
  • Taking back control: A Neighbourhood Board makes the decisions.

Funding will be used to support projects that matter most to local people and reflect what they want for the future of Alt and Holts.

Who’s leading the work?

A board called the Alt and Holts Neighbourhood Board will be established, The board includes local residents, business owners, councillors and community leaders.

Their job is to create a 10 year plan, ask residents what matters most, decide how the money is spent and make sure everything is delivered properly.

Have your say

This is just the beginning and your opinion matters.

The board will seek views from residents, young people, businesses and community and faith groups.

The Alt and Holts Neighbourhood Board will seek out diverse perspectives by engaging with and attending meetings of existing local groups, networks and community organisations.

All feedback will be collected and reviewed, formally presented to the board and used to help shape final decisions.
