Waste carriers

Getting rid of your waste is your responsibility.

Whether you’re a resident or a business, don’t give it to someone who can’t prove they are a legitimate waste carrier.

They are likely to dump or fly-tip your rubbish to avoid paying waste disposal costs – and then you could be the one facing a fine or a prosecution. 

Only use registered waste carriers and you should always ask for a waste transfer note as proof of the transfer to an authorised person.

Remember

  • Don’t use cold callers or people who advertise on social media and don’t show valid waste carrier registration details 
  • Ask what is going to happen to your waste
  • Ask for a waste transfer note
