Oldham's youth workers' focus on helping young people create an understanding of themselves, their community, and the world in which they live.

The current situation in Oldham has been difficult on many levels. If you are self-isolating or spending more time at home due to your workplace, college, or your school being closed, it is important to take care of yourself and your mental wellbeing.

You may be feeling anxious, lonely or stressed, however, there's a lot of support available to help you take care of your mental health.

What does this mean:

  • Our Youth Workers provide a safe place (both in-person and online) to be creative
  • Our sessions provide opportunities to develop friendships
  • Our staff can be a trusted adult (who knows what is needed) who can help signpost you to the support you need
  • We provide opportunities for you to explore your values, beliefs, ideas and issues
  • We help enable you to develop your voice, influence and place in society
  • We help you to acquire a set of practical or technical skills, to realise your full potential

Oldham youth Service does this by running group activities and 1 to 1 support sessions for all young people who live, work or go to school in Oldham.
