1. Book of remembrance

Oldham Crematorium’s Book of Remembrance is located at the Remembrance Room adjacent to the Crematorium Chapel at Hollinwood Cemetery to provide a lasting record and dignified memorial.

The vellum cover bears the Coat of Arms of the Borough and is finished with gold leaf tooling and semi-precious stones.

Four pages are allocated to each day of the year, and the Book is displayed open in a protective glass case so that entries may be seen on each day of the year.

Two-line entries are available and with entries of five or more lines, space is available to enhance the memorial by the inclusion of a miniature work of art such as a floral emblem, animals, birds, badges of societies and organisations, regimental badges, crests and coats of arms. Copies of the book of remembrance entry are also available to keep at home.

Only 40 spaces are allowed per line, which includes letters, numbers and spaces.

A water display is situated directly outside the Book of Remembrance for tributes to be placed.
