Use this form to submit an application for a school place.

Only make an application for a school place using this form if you pay your Council Tax to Oldham Council.

If you don’t pay your Council Tax to Oldham Council, please apply to the council you do pay your Council Tax to. You will still be able to apply for Oldham schools using their application process.

Only one application can be made for any schools in any borough.

How to apply

To apply, you’ll need to set up an account first:

Once your account is set up, you can log in to:

  • Fill in your application
  • View or change your school preference

Log in to apply

You must submit your application by pressing the 'Submit' button. If you do not do this, the application will not be sent to the local authority and you will not have applied for a school place.

You will receive a confirmation email as soon as you press 'Submit'. If you do not receive this confirmation email, please contact the Admissions Team on 0161 770 4213.

After submitting, don’t click the 'Back' button on your browser—it could cancel your submission.

Sharing data

Oldham Council has a duty to protect the public funds it administers, to prevent and detect fraud, and to ensure information held is accurate and handled with full regard to the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.

To carry out this duty, we may share the information we hold about you, where the law allows it, with other sections of the council, other local authorities, and other government agencies for comparison purposes.

Primary school admissons

For children born between 01/09/2021 and 31/08/2022

  • Admissions open: 01 September 2025
  • Admissions close: 5.00pm 15 January 2026
  • Late Admissions open: 9:00am 19 January 2026
  • Decisions notified: 16 April 2026
  • Late Admissions closes: 18 July 2026

Secondary school admissions

For children born between 01/09/2014 and 31/08/2015

  • Admissions open: 01 August 2025
  • Admissions close: 5:00pm 31 October 2025
  • Late Admissions open: 9:00am 05 November 2025
  • Decisions notified: 02 March 2026
  • Late Admissions closes: 17 July 2026
