GM Reflect e-learning

Open access, free-to-use eLearning modules designed to strengthen levels of confidence across a range of workforce competencies.

Aligned to the GM REFLECT competencies, these modules have been co-designed with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and Early Years professionals from across Greater Manchester. They are aimed at the GM Early Years workforce, working in multi-agency roles and with differing qualifications and experience to strengthen their levels of confidence across a range of competencies

The first 5 topics to be launched are:

  • Physical Development
  • Pre-Birth and the Early Days
  • Social, Emotional Development and Wellbeing

GM RISES - Firm Foundations

This GM REFLECT e-learning pack has been created in collaboration with practitioners and leaders from the Greater Manchester region as part of the GM REFLECT framework.  It aims to increase the confidence of the wider early years workforce aligned to the competencies in Tier 1 of the framework.

This e-learning has been developed as a partnership between Manchester Metropolitan University and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and is designed to support those currently working with early years children and families, or those who may want to do so in future.

You can study at your own pace, stopping and starting – and the pack will save your progress. There is no deadline for completion and it is free to access. On completion you will be awarded with a digital badge.

  • Develop effective communication skills to build strong, respectful relationships with families, promoting collaboration in supporting children’s development
  • Understand the diverse backgrounds and needs of families to create inclusive partnerships that value each family
  • Gain skills and confidence to support families of babies and young children.

This free online course is designed for learners who wish to understand more about social – emotional development and wellbeing in the early years.

Oldham Safeguarding Children Partnership - 7 Minute Briefings The OSCP have introduced 'seven-minute briefings', designed to be delivered as a short briefing regarding a particular subject. 
The briefings provide a mixture of new information such as learning from Serious Case Reviews or a reminder of basic information with challenge questions for teams to think about the application to practice within their teams.
