In line with national guidance from the NCSC, alternative measures have been put in place to allow the sending and receiving of email data securely by the authority.

Sending us information securely

If your email contains sensitive information, and therefore requires encryption, our systems are already configured to receive emails via a TLS connection.  Please refer to your IT department to understand whether your organisation has the same arrangements in place. Secure email can then be sent to a standard address.

Additional security with Egress

Depending on business need, or where TLS security is not available, we also have the option to send information securely using Egress Switch.  Importantly, it enables us to protect personal/sensitive data; and lets you respond/initiate correspondence with us in a safe enclosed environment.  Egress is free to use when sending or replying to emails from us.

Receiving Egress email from us

On receipt of an email encrypted with Egress, you will be given a link to view the email’s content online. You’ll need to complete a quick and easy registration process to access the email.  Once you're registered, any future emails will simply require you to enter your Egress credentials again to view the message.  If you're already registered - you may have been communicating securely with another organisation – please use your existing login details to communicate securely with us.
