Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council

Notice in Delay in Publication of Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council Audited Statement of Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2023.

The Accounts and Audit (England) Regulations 2015 – Regulation 10, as amended by The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2021 and the Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2022.

The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2022 require that the audited accounts and opinion are published by 30 September 2023. In accordance with the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, Regulation 10, paragraph (2a), this is notification that there will be a delay in the publication of the Council’s Audited Statement of Accounts and that the Council’s Audited Statement of Accounts will not meet the deadline of 30 September 2023.

The reasons for the delay in publishing the Council’s Audited Statement of Accounts primarily relates to a national issue surrounding potential presence of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) in the Council’s property plant and equipment (PPE).

The Council is continuing to work closely with its External Auditors, Mazars LLP and will publish an Audited Statement of Accounts as soon as the audit is concluded.
