Statutory Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places
Notice is hereby given that Oldham Council in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by Sections 18A to 18E of the Representation of the People Act 1983 shall undertake a review of the parliamentary polling districts and parliamentary polling places within its area, to commence on 10 November 2023. The review is to be combined with a review of the local government polling districts under Section 31 of the Act.
Between Friday 1 December and Friday 29 December 2023 (the consultation period) electors from within the following Parliamentary constituencies may make representations:
- Oldham West, Chadderton, and Royton
- Oldham East and Saddleworth
- Manchester Central
Oldham Council would welcome the views of all residents on the proposed polling district and polling station changes and is asking for you to make your voice heard. We want to hear what you think of the proposals, how they will impact you and the people you live with and to make a representation about any aspect of the polling districts or polling places to be used at future elections.

The polling places review means that your polling station may change, so you may be voting in a different place in the 2024 Elections.
Once the Consultation is finished, the Council will publish its final recommendations which will show the new polling districts and polling stations for future elections on Tuesday 2 January 2024.
Please note that all proposals and comments received will be published and available to view on the Council’s website following the conclusion of the review.
Final proposals will be considered by the Council on 22 January 2024. These revised arrangements, if approved, will come into effect when the revised version of the Electoral Register is published on the new ward boundaries on 1 February 2024.
