What we use your information for
We obtain your personal information for the following purpose(s):
- To process ESOL applications, undertake assessments, and arrange suitable courses
- To coordinate, manage, and monitor ESOL placements
- To inform you of other non-ESOL courses, learning opportunities, and/or available support relating to your interest/s.
- For statistical reporting on course suitability and attendance
What categories of personal information do we use?
Personal information can be anything that identifies and relates to a living person. This can include information that when linked with other information, allows a person to be uniquely identified. For example, this could be your name and contact details.

Legal basis for processing
The legal basis for processing and or sharing your personal information is:
- Article 6(1) (e) UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): the processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest, or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller
If you provide information about your ethnicity and/or disability, we collect and use this information under:
- Article 9 (2)(g) GDPR and Schedule 1 Part 2 Data Protection Act 2018: processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest, and equality of opportunity.
- Art 9(2)(j) and Schedule 1 Data Protection Act 2018: It is necessary for statistical purposes.
The legislation we rely on to support our lawful basis for processing but is not limited to is:

We do not transfer any of your personal information outside the European Economic Area (‘EEA’).
Automated Decisions
All the decisions we make about you involve human intervention.
How long we keep your data
We will only keep your personal information for as long as the law specifies or where the law does not specify this, for the length of time determined by our business requirements.
