Prudential Building, Union Street
The former Prudential Assurance Building, awaiting restoration, is in the style used by Alfred Waterhouse (designer of Manchester Town Hall) for that company.
It dates from 1889 and is Grade II Listed. For a long time, its basement housed the Café Monico, at its peak a prestigious nightclub.
