Masonic Hall, Union Street

The Union St frontage, in a Greek revival style, dates from 1880, although it is dwarfed by a large 1924 redbrick extension to the rear.

There is a subtle clue to the building’s relationship with the Freemasonry movement as the brackets holding the railings to the door are shaped like dividers, a Masonic symbol.
