Oldham Time Trek Trail - Barn Street
Jackson Pit ends at Barn St and the old lane to Oldham continued up the hill along a lane called Water St, the lower part of which was blocked off by the building of the Police Station in the 1980s.
Barn St itself derives its name from having been the location of the Oldham Tithe Barn, where the 10% levy on the produce of each field was stored before distribution.
