How do I find my, my child’s, or a pupil’s SEND Officer?
Which SEND Officer you have depends on the child or young person’s age, school year, and sometimes where they live.
SEND Officers are linked to certain schools and areas of Oldham called district wards.
If the child attends an independent school, private school, post-16 setting, or a school outside Oldham, their SEND Officer is based on where they live.
You can find their district ward by entering their postcode into MapIt.
The SEND Service at Oldham Council currently has two teams:
Assessments and Review Team
This team supports children and young people who are:
- having an EHC needs assessment
- in Years 0-N1, R to 5, 7 to 10, 12 to 13 or 15 to 20 and have an EHC Plan
Transitions Team
This team supports children and young people who have an EHC Plan in transition years:
- Nursery 2
- Year 6
- Year 11
- Year 14
How to find the allocated SEND Officer
- If the child or young person is currently having an EHC assessment, check the EHC Hub. The SEND Officer’s name will appear in the left-hand menu.
- If they are in a transition year, Nursery 2, Year 6, Year 11 or Year 14, email ehcinfo@oldham.gov.uk to find out who their SEND Officer is.
- If they already have an EHC Plan and are supported by the Assessments and Review Team, check the tables below to find the SEND Officer linked to their school or district ward.
