Window 2: 'Winter is the spring'

Designed by Christopher Rainham

'To Those Who Keep Their Hearts Their Own the Winter is the Spring', this window focuses on the wildlife that is still active at this time of year and are preparing for winter whilst looking forward to the New Year and spring. The window encompasses a woodland, a murmuration of painted starlings, trees, toadstools and painted birds and animals. Lit to throw shadows and highlight the nocturnal animals around us to create drama between the foggy daylight, dusk and the darkness of a winter night.

Designer Chris has been practising as a visual artist since in 1989, exhibiting locally, nationally and internationally at galleries, art fairs and non-gallery spaces and was one of a group of artists who created a touring exhibition based on Lancashire folk tales that toured to galleries and museums across Lancashire.
