Coronavirus: Information and advice

Oldhamers have a proud history of pulling together.

Tackling Coronavirus is one of the greatest challenges we have ever faced. It’s more important than ever that we demonstrate resilience, determination, and community spirit. But these are things we’re famous for.

Places like Oldham may have to work harder than other places to keep Coronavirus levels low as lockdown restrictions are lifted. This is because of inequalities in health, the economy, housing, and the job market.

We’re therefore calling on people from across the borough to pull together, support each other and keep to the Covid restrictions. Please help Oldham to recover as quickly as possible from the devastating health, social and economic impact that the pandemic has had. This means:

  • getting tested when you need to
  • taking your Coronavirus vaccination when it is offered
  • and continuing to follow the hands, face, space guidance while it remains in place.

We’d also love to hear your stories, see your photos, and share your experiences of how the community is pulling together as we start to recover from the pandemic.

Please share your stories on social media, and using the hashtag #WeAreOldham and tagging in our Council pages

Alternatively, send your stories and ideas to pressoffice@oldham.gov.uk and we can share on your behalf.
