Spring into Oldham returns for Easter
Oldham Council and the Town Centre Business Partnership are inviting residents to Parliament Square for the annual Easter-themed event, Spring into Oldham.
On Saturday 8 April (11am-4pm), our new public space in Oldham town centre will be packed with free fun activities for all of the family to enjoy.
With opportunities to meet Chickedy and Chick from the hit TV show ‘Twirlywoos’ and a petting farm - which includes real bunnies, chicks and a Jersey calf - it’s an event not to be missed.
There’s also an Easter Egg Hunt around Parliament Square with the Easter Bunny, story-telling sessions inside a giant inflatable Easter egg, and Easter bonnet-making craft activities.
Visitors will be able to show off their creations alongside Ollie and Millie, the Town Centre mascot owls, during an Easter parade around the Square at 3pm.
Councillor Jean Stretton, Leader of Oldham Council, said: “This is a fantastic day out for all of the family and it’s also a great opportunity to pick up some Easter treats or new springtime clothes.
“With great free entertainment on offer, I’d encourage you all to come down - and whilst you’re down there why not visit the Old Town Hall or the Independent Quarter?”
Send in your pictures from the day to us on Twitter @OldhamCouncil with the hashtag #LoveOldham, and don’t forget, if you’re looking for somewhere to park on the day, there is up to three hours free parking on all council-owned car parks at weekends – just remember you do need to get a ticket.
For any enquiries about the event, phone the Town Centre Team on 0161 770 4516.
