Budget consultation – we need your views
Every year local authorities must set out their proposals for the next year's spending plans – their budget.
Once councils have put these budget plans together, they are required to put them out to public consultation, which gives residents a chance to give feedback.
This year, our budget consultation will run from 9 November 2020 to 1 February 2021 to give Oldham residents the chance to have their say on our proposals and, if they wish, suggest alternative proposals.
This consultation comes at a time where the council is looking to save more than £30million as a result of the continuing financial pressures of the Coronavirus and increased demand for services.
As a result of the level of savings needed, officers and councillors have come up with a range of proposals to cut expenditure and change the way the council operates.
These proposals are now available to view, where you can let us know what you think.
