Oldham Council asks the community to thank our COVID heroes by urging the government for fair funding.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak began, Oldham’s heroes have been working around the clock to reduce its impact on you and your family – and to keep us safe.
From continuing to collect your waste and recycling, despite some of our workforce having to shield at home, to taking calls on our emergency helpline in your hour of need and by providing emergency food parcels to those most isolated, members of Team Oldham, the voluntary sector and the community have worked tirelessly to give you their everything.
But as we all know, the COVID-19 outbreak is placing massive pressure on services provided by both the council and the NHS. The financial cost of this cannot be understated, it is a massive amount that will continue to grow as we continue to spend whatever it takes to keep Oldham residents safe.
That is why your local heroes - those who have looked after your loved ones in our care homes, those who have processed your business grants to ensure you remain open today, and those who have supported you with employment at this time of great uncertainty – need your help today as we seek support from Government in the form of fair funding.
This funding will help make up the costs the council has had to spend on its first priority – keeping Oldham residents safe.
You can help by signing our letter to the Government asking for more financial support - so we can help those who have selflessly worked to support the most vulnerable throughout this crisis.
