Act now to avoid a local lockdown

We need you to act NOW. If everyone makes these small changes we can avoid a second lockdown. Stop meeting people outside your household. Wear a mask. Stop having visitors.

Latest information and advice

You are now required, by law, to wear a face-covering in the following places:

  • Oldham Library
  • public transport
  • airports, rail and tram stations, bus and coach stations, and ports
  • shops and supermarkets
  • indoor shopping centres
  • banks, building societies, and post offices (including credit unions, short-term loan providers, savings clubs and money service businesses)

We strongly encourage you to wear a face-covering in other enclosed public spaces where social distancing may be difficult and where you come into contact with people you do not normally meet.

Face coverings are for adults, children over 11 and optional for children aged between 3 and 11. Please do not make your baby or child under the age of 3 wear a face covering as it is dangerous and could suffocate them.

Also, please be understanding as not everyone is able to wear a mask.
