Vaccination of people working in care homes | Get a coronavirus vaccination | Oldham Council

4. Vaccination of people working in care homes

From 11 November 2021, anyone working or volunteering in a care home will need to be fully vaccinated against coronavirus (COVID-19), unless exempt.

This will include staff and volunteers who are deployed in care homes, and professional visitors to care homes.

Those who believe they qualify for medical exemptions are able to self-certify to this but must have applied for and received an official NHS COVID Pass medical exemption by Friday 24 December 2021.

This is a regulatory requirement from Thursday 11 November.

If you are working or volunteering in a care home you must ensure you are able to provide the required evidence that you have either been fully vaccinated or are exempt when visiting to a care home.

Care homes will have no option but to refuse entry to anyone who is unable to provide this evidence.
