1. Testing for people with symptoms

Opertating hours

From Monday 1 November, the operating hours of Oldham’s local testing service are changing from 8am-8pm to 8am-6pm. If you have Covid-19 symptoms or you have been advised to take a PCR test, you can still access them at multiple sites across Oldham by following the details on this page.

Oldham has coronavirus testing facilities across the borough.

Testing is free and available to anyone showing symptoms or has concerns about coronavirus.

The centres are open seven days a week.

You’re encouraged to book an appointment online however, walk-ins are also accepted at Honeywell Centre, Peel St and Higher Memorial Park.

You can book an appointment for a free test through the GOV.UK website:

Get a free coronavirus test

  • You MUST bring a confirmation email of your appointment (printed out or on your phone) and ID
  • You MUST wear a face covering when attending the site

If you are unable to get a test and have symptoms or suspect you may have coronavirus, you must self-isolate until you are able to get tested.

I’ve tested positive for COVID-19 infection - how soon do I need to be tested again?

If you have had Covid-19, and this was confirmed with a positive PCR test (test that was sent to a lab), it is important that – if you do not develop new symptoms – you do not take a second test.

You do not need to be tested again for 90 days if you remain symptom-free.

However, if you develop new symptoms of COVID-19 during the three-month period, you must self-isolate and get another test
