(formerly known as Co-operative Oldham Fund)

The Action Oldham Fund is seeking submissions from organisations that have a great idea for their community but need some funding to get it off the ground.

The Fund is split into two categories – the 'Seedcorn Fund' for smaller projects, and the 'Project Fund' for larger ones.

What is it for?

The priorities for funding in 2014 are:

  • Helping Oldham Borough residents into work (projects that support or encourage local people into work or volunteering, for example: confidence building projects, job clubs, skill building programmes)
  • Promoting wellbeing amongst Oldham Borough residents (projects that improve physical or mental health and wellbeing of local people, for example: starting an exercise or walking group, reading groups, workshops on health awareness projects)
  • Promoting independence and resilience within communities (projects that help communities and groups become more sustainable, for example fitting of new flooring enabling  a room to be rented out or a feasibility study/business planning to develop a community asset)
  • Get Oldham Growing (projects that improve access to healthy food or increase opportunities to learn about food growing, cooking and eating for example: community come dine with me projects, community gardening)

Who can apply?

It is open to community groups, voluntary organisations, registered charities and faith groups. Social enterprises and community interest companies may also be eligible to apply, depending on the nature of the organisation.

Which fund should you apply for?

Grassroots organisations should apply for the Seedcorn Fund, where successful projects could receive up to £1,000.

The Project Fund is for organisations with greater capacity and experience of bigger community projects. Successful applicants could receive up to £10,000 for their project.

Deadlines?
