Shaw and Crompton Children's Centre offers a wide range of activities for all families with children aged 0 – 5.

The centre is one of two within the Royton, Shaw and Crompton District Children's Centres’ Cluster.

The District Manager is Janette Olsen.

Baby Massage

Contact the centre if you think you and your baby would benefit from baby massage. 

Antenatal Midwife Clinics

Weekly clinics held at both Royton, Shaw and Crompton Children’s Centres – by appointment only, please contact Royton on 0161 770 5314 or Shaw and Crompton on 0161 770 5308.

Babbling Babies

For babies aged 4–12 months, this six-week communication and fun play programme is for you and your baby. Contact the children’s centre to book a place.

Baby Bistro

Weekly breastfeeding support group.

Baby clinic

Have your baby weighed and discuss your baby’s progress with the health visiting team at this fortnightly session.

Little Talkers

A five-week programme looking at strategies to support your child’s speech and language development. Referral only (self-referrals accepted).

Play Together, Learn Together

Fun activities supporting learning and development through play for children aged 0–5.

Speech and Language

Monthly drop-in for parents or carers who may have concerns around their child’s speech and language.

SPOONS (Supporting Parents Of Oldham Neonates)

Monthly session run by SPOONS for parents of Neonate children.

Following an inspection, children’s centres must complete an action plan to show how they will implement Ofsted's recommendations.

 

 

Getting here

From Royton, take the second exit from the large roundabout on to Crompton Way. At the traffic lights turn right and go down the road until you see Aldi. The centre is on the right.

From Rochdale or the Buckstones area, head towards Shaw town centre. Turn right after Linney Lane onto Milnrow Road, keep going onto Market Street. Continue through the town centre until the end of the road. The centre is the first building on the right facing the main road.

From High Crompton, follow Rochdale Road towards Shaw town centre. At the traffic lights go straight, turn right at the next lights onto Market Street. When you come to the end you will see Aldi opposite. The centre is the first building on the right facing the main road.
