Visiting the library
All our libraries have a wide selection of books for children of all ages from toddlers to teens and experienced staff who can help with book recommendations.
There are dedicated Children's computers for fun, research or homework. Every library has a selection of toys, games, and activities for families to enjoy.
Children and young people can get help with their homework using free library resources.
Children receive a free homework printing allowance and have free access to books and online homework resources, at all of our libraries.
Our knowledgeable library staff will be happy to show them how to access the answers they need.
Summer Reading Challenge
The annual Summer Reading Challenge takes place in public libraries throughout the UK. Children are invited to read six books during the summer holiday.
They join at their local library and receive a collector's poster to get them started. There are stickers and prizes to collect along the way, and a medal and certificate at the end.
The Summer Reading Challenge website offers inspiration from the authors and is a year round resource.
