Oldham libraries offer a range of services for people with a love of reading who are no longer able to visit the library due to infirmity, disability or caring responsibilities.

Collection Library service

Our trained staff will discuss your reading choices, favourite authors, favourite genre, interests and hobbies with you.  We will then select up to 12 books on your behalf. The books are packed and labelled ready for collection from your local library by your nominated person (maybe a relative or neighbour).

Volunteer Home library service

If you have no one in the borough that can collect books for you then you may be eligible for the Home Library Service. For this service a home visit will be required to assess your eligibility. If successful a trained volunteer will deliver your books to your home on a regular basis. This service is subject to availability.   For anyone interested in volunteering for this service or other opportunities at Oldham Libraries please complete this form.
